We just returned from one of our most eventful camping trips ever.
Late last week, Drew and I decided to head up to Prescott to enjoy some outdoor time together. After checking the weekend weather on Friday night, we made a list of all the things we needed to pack and what we needed to pick up at the grocery store on the way out of town. Saturday morning we packed up the car, printed out the direction and headed out of town. After a nice 2 hour drive up to Prescott and some less than accurate directions, we were almost to Granite Basin and the campground. Out of the blue, Drew asked me if I had put the tent into the car, which I hadn't. Turns out he hadn't either and as we pulled into the campground we knew for sure that we had no tent!!
The good news is that there are no bugs or rain to worry about in AZ this time of year, the bad news is it was going to drop into the 30's during the night. Weighing our options we decided to tough it out and sleep under the stars. Well, it was cold for sure, but the sky full of stars we fell asleep to more than made up for a few shivers. We may never bring our tent again!!
We had a great time and even did a few hours of hiking in the woods. Every time we go camping we remember how much we love it, so why does it seem to take us 10 months to plan the next trip!! Hopefully this will be the first of many camping trips this year!!

All hope is not lost
Well, it's March and we are still in Phoenix. We are having a great time, mind you, so we aren't complaining, but we were really starting to wonder if we would ever get to Prague. I unpacked everything and even planted a spring veggie garden as it seemed less and less likely that we were going anywhere.
Well, it looks like we may still be going to Prague sometime in the next month. Drew's company is working very hard to get the deals signed and his boss still believes that we will be going to Prague sometime in the next month. So I haven't started to repack yet, but I stopped my short lived job search and we are back to the waiting game.
There have been a few benefits to waiting until spring to go to Prague, most noticeable is the weather in Phoenix versus Prague. And most importantly to a young niece of ours, we were able to attend Sierra's 4th birthday party this past weekend.
Big news for the Team Middleton family, Swiss no longer hates Manchego!! We wouldn't go so far as to say they are friends, but at least the big cat fights have ceased. World peace can't be far behind.
Happy spring to everyone! Hope the snow melts soon or the heat doesn't start too early, depending on where you are.

Life in Phoenix
We are still in Phoenix, and are still being told we will be going to Prague. So in the mean time, we have plunged back into our lives in Phoenix and will worry about Prague if and when it comes true again.
I don't think there is a better place in the whole world to spend the month of February than Phoenix and we have been living it up. I have been putting some miles on my bicycle riding through South Mountain park and Drew has been putting his miles on his motorcycle both going to work and out exploring Arizona on the weekends.
We spent a weekend in Seattle visiting Matt and enjoyed a long weekend of relaxing. While we had a great time and even ventured outside for a walk and a round of disc golf, the weather in Seattle in February leaves some room for improvement.
Drew has been hard at work with some new work projects while they are waiting for the Prague work to come through and I have started working part time doing pump trainings and education again. I am working only in Arizona so far and am loving it. I could get used to this!!!
Hope everyone had a great Valentine's weekend. Anyone who was hoping to come visit us in March in Prague should switch their tickets to Phoenix! It's much nicer here this time of year anyway.

When are we going??
That is the big question. After rushing around at the holidays getting everything in order, quitting my job and tying up loose ends; we are now sitting around waiting and still don't know when we are leaving. I packed up all the things we would need in Prague, but it turns out we need most of those things here as well. So now I've been unpacking things like bandaids and yoga DVD's so we can continue to live here. Thank god I didn't cancel the internet and newspaper.
So we are just enjoying our time here in Phoenix, the weather couldn't be better these last two weeks. And I sure am enjoying my time off. I am actually getting done all those things you want to get done but never seemed to have the time.
We will keep you all posted, but for the time being we are here in Phoenix.

We are going to miss everyone
The bad thing about a new adventure is the people you have to leave behind. We loved our going away party last night, thanks Tiffy for such a nice event. The problem is that a going away party requires that you go away, which we are, but we are really going to miss everyone here.
We are so lucky to have such wonderful friends, which is a rare treasure in today's world. It is going to be very hard to enjoy all the new adventures ahead of us without our friends and family to share it with.
I'm most torn up about leaving Sara and the girls. Yesterday, Sierra asked me why I wasn't coming to her birthday party and I almost cried. At least we got the web cameras working on Skype.
I am going to make the most of everyday we have here before we leave. Soaking in as many good times with family and friends as I can.
Hopefully we will find out in the next day or two when we are headed to Prague, but for now I am going to just enjoy being here.

No more job for me
Well, we better be moving because I quit my job this week. Now anyone who knows me knows that while I love being a nurse, I'm never in love with working. I have taken time off from work many times, sometimes for fun and sometimes with a broken bone. So it is nothing new for me to take a "sabbatical" but this time is especially great because I have Drew to share all the new adventures with, and because he still has a job so we won't be broke, like every other time I quit working. So I am really looking forward to having this time for myself; to explore a new city and culture, spoil Drew and if all goes well grow a baby.
Happy New Years everyone. Here's to a wonderful and exciting 2009 for us all.
